Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps [Quicktip]

Facebook activity feed or the ‘Facebook Wall’ is where you find updates of your friends’ activities. It is also where almost every marketing approach is most effective, due to the viral feature it offers. Any application you use on Facebook will try to access your Facebook Wall via posted activity updates, so it can receive more exposure towards a larger audience.

Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps
It may not matter much to you what updates are posted on your wall, but not everyone likes their Facebook Wall to be flooded with unrelated content. And sometimes, you yourself may also want to hide certain activities you do with Facebook Apps for one reason or another.
Facebook has evolved to be a lot more flexible than it was before, and there is actually a way to hide or disable activity posts and updates from your Facebook Apps. In this tutorial, we will show you how.

Apps Option

Firstly, log in to your Facebook account and head over to the Apps Option page where you will be able to control your Apps updates.
  1. When you are already logged in, click on the arrow tab on the top right corner of your Facebok account, and go to ‘Account Settings’.

Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps

  2.  In the Account Settings page, click on the left menu that says ‘Apps’.

Disable Activity Posts

Now that you are in the App Settings page, you should be able to see a list of Apps already associated with your account via previous agreements you had agreed to whenever you start using an app on Facebook, or when you allow any third-party application to access your Facebook data.

Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps
  1. Click on the ‘Edit’ link next to any particular App to make the changes you want to make.

Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps

After clicking on the Edit link, the app’s column will expand to show some information of what the App can do to your Facebook account, the type of access it has and how it can post to your Facebook Wall.

  2. Look for ‘App Activity Privacy’, and change ‘Who can see posts and activity from this app on Facebook?’.
Disabling Activity Posts from Facebook Apps

You can change the visibility of the posts and activities from this app, expanding it to the public or limiting it to friends, family, or just yourself. If you want to totally hide the posts, simply select ‘Only Me’ so the activities and posts will not be visible to anyone else on Facebook.
Any changes you make on this page will reflect on your account automatically and immediately.

Conclusion

There will be a number of apps that you may have not used for quite some time. These apps will have access to information on your account and therefore it is best that you remove the app from your account. This can be done from the same page too. Otherwise, you can simply control who can see any activity updates from any particular app associated with your account.

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Put that garlic to good use

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Put that garlic to good use
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Put that garlic to good use

While most FarmVille 2 players are familiar with the new Garlic crop that Zynga has released as part of the game's Fangtastic Fun theme, what they might not notice is that Garlic can actually be used in a new recipe within the Crafting Kitchen. Along with the release of this Garlic-inspired dish comes two other Halloween dishes, which are almost more profitable in the long run.

The trio of dishes are the Skeleton Cookies, Candy Apple and Garlic Bread, and we're here with a look at the requirements and stats for each of them.

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Put that garlic to good use
Skeleton Cookies - 10 Lemons + 2 Batter

For this recipe, you'll need to use the Lemons from Lemon Trees and Batter that can be crafted using Flour and Eggs (Flour itself is made from Wheat) to make a single batch. The Skeleton Cookies sell for 970 coins each at the Farmer's Market, which is more than you'd make by just selling the Batters and Lemons on their own (but not by much).

Candy Apples - 10 Apples + 3 Sugar

This recipe requires Apples from Apple Trees and Sugar that can be earned by asking your friends to send it to you via individual requests. Since Sugar comes directly from friends, it has no value (it can't be sold on its own), but ten Apples would sell for 180 coins in bulk. Since Candy Apples sell for 1,290 coins each, that's definitely a better use of Apples than selling them individually, or even turning them into Animal Feed.

Garlic Bread - 12 Garlic + 2 Flour

Garlic takes four hours to grow, and unless you want to sell it individually, this Garlic Bread is the only place it can be put to other use. A single loaf of Garlic Bread sells for 1,050 coins, while each individual Flour would sell for only 90 coins. Obviously, this is a much better profit than selling each individual ingredient, but remember, there are so many other crafting projects that produce so many more coins if you're going for bulk cash fast. Still, it's nice to have at least one thing to create with this Garlic so it doesn't go to waste, and we'll make sure to let you know if additional recipes are released in the future.

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Buy an extra Well for more Water

As you play FarmVille 2, one of the biggest obstacles you'll need to overcome is the game's fairly constant need for water, which is used to water plants and crops and craft food items like Lemon Water or Lemonade. While an early land expansion gives players access to a free Well that can be used to earn 10 free units of Water every four hours, did you know that you can actually purchase an additional Well from the store?

This Well is quite expensive, but is ultimately worth the investment if you're going to be playing FarmVille 2 over the long haul. You can find it by heading into the game's General Store and then clicking on the Buildings tab at the top (it's the one with the red barn). There, you'll see a Well that's available to purchase for 14,000 coins. As we said, that's quite expensive, but as you reach Levels 9, 10 and beyond, you may actually run out of quests to complete (until you level up again), so you can use any excess coins you create during that leveling up process to purchase the Well while you wait.
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Buy an extra Well for more Water

If you do decide to purchase another Well, you'll need to collect building materials to construct it: three Bricks, three Metal and four Wood Planks. You'll earn these items by asking your friends to send them to you. After that, you'll need to get four of your friends to come staff the Well before you can actually use it.

Once these two steps are completed, you'll have access to even more Water on a regular basis, which should help you complete quests and earn mastery ribbons even faster than you would have otherwise. Good luck becoming a master farmer on your new land!

Update: It looks like additional Water Wells will also unlock as you continue to level up. A third Well, for instance, costs 50,000 coins, but may not be available until after you've hit Level 10. Stay tuned for more!

FarmVille 2 Prized Animals: Everything you need to know

FarmVille 2 Prized Animals: Everything you need to know
FarmVille 2 Prized Animals: Everything you need to know

While FarmVille 2 already comes with plenty of differences when compared to its predecessor, another major gameplay difference is in FarmVille 2's introduction of Prized or Blue Ribbon Animals. This feature will allow you to earn bonus XP and coins for simply feeding animals over and over again, until they eventually qualify.

For most farmers, the first animal that will likely become "Prized" is a chicken, as it has a relatively short feeding period of just a few minutes. You'll be notified when an animal becomes Prized, but if you disregard the notice, you'll also be able to tell due to the increase in feeding time of each of those animals. To be especially clear, you'll need to raise each individual animal to the "Prized" state, as this feature works for each individual animal and not whole species.

Once an animal has become Prized, the next time it's ready to tend, you'll see a blue ribbon thought bubble above its head, rather than a feed pile, as seen below.
FarmVille 2 Prized Animals: Everything you need to know

Clicking on the animal allows you to automatically "Take it to the show," and a new pop-up will appear telling you what it had won. In the case of this chicken example, you may win 50 coins and a single XP for tending the chicken, as it wins a ribbon at the County Fair. It's possible that these rewards may differ for other animals or even between different tends, but that specifically is still unknown at this time.

As we said before, these Prized animals take much longer to tend, with a single Prized White Chicken requiring 18 hours between trips to the Fair, instead of five minutes like we might be used to. Still, the guaranteed coin rewards are worth it, don't you think?

What do you think of this Prized Animal feature in FarmVille 2? Have you raised any of your own Prized Animals yet? Sound off in the comments!

FarmVille 2 Prized Crops: Everything you need to know

While FarmVille 2's prized animal feature may ultimately be a bit more simple than we would have liked, simply rewarding coins and experience points depending on the kind of animal that has become "prized," the game's prized crops feature is much more interesting... and random.

Once you start growing fertilized crops on your new farm, you'll also start to randomly received massive crops when harvesting. These crops won't bounce around the screen, and you'll actually need to click on them to activate this mini-feature. A pop-up will appear, showing you the weigh-in of the crop, which seems to be mostly random. That is, you can grow a three pound strawberry, or a 10+ pound strawberry all without really doing anything different.
FarmVille 2 Prized Crops: Everything you need to know

Depending on the weight of the crop you grow, you'll receive coins, experience points and mastery points towards the next ribbon of that crop. For instance, if you grow a three pound strawberry, you'll receive three points towards a ribbon, three XP and a set of coins. As another example, if you grow a 6.5 pound strawberry though, you'd receive even more coins (because the crop simply weighed more) along with seven XP and seven ribbon points.

Ultimately, this feature may rely more on luck than skill, but it's an interesting addition that justifies the continued use (and collection) of Fertilizer on your farm. You can claim free fertilizer from your friends' news posts, or you can randomly receive fertilizer when you feed your own animals on your farm. Good luck growing some massive prized crops of your own!

FarmVille 2 Crafting Kitchen: Everything you need to know

FarmVille 2 Crafting Kitchen: Everything you need to know
FarmVille 2 Crafting Kitchen: Everything you need to know
As soon as you reach Level 5 in FarmVille 2, you'll be given the opportunity to start turning your crops into finished foods, like scones, cakes and drinks. This gives you yet another option for your crops, aside from selling them for straight profit or turning them into Animal Feed. There are currently a whopping nine pages of crafting recipes inside this kitchen, but many of the recipes are level-locked, encouraging continued play to unlock them. We're here with a look at these recipes, which come in the form of equations, so let's get started.

Flour
  • 2 Wheat + 2 Wheat
  • Sells for: 90 coins

Batter
  • 1 Flour + 3 Eggs
  • Sells for: 290 coins

Apple Scone
  • 6 Apples + 1 Batter
  • Sells for: 640 coins

Lemon Water
  • 2 Lemons + 1 Water
  • Sells for: 150 coins

Lemonade
  • 1 Lemon Water + 4 Lemons
  • Sells for: 350 coins

Strawberry Lemonade
  • 5 Strawberries + 1 Lemonade
  • Sells for: 630 coins

Tomato Paste
  • 4 Tomatoes + 4 Tomatoes
  • Sells for: 120 coins

Broth
  • 3 Water + 6 Onions
  • Sells for: 420 coins

Tomato Soup
  • 1 Tomato Paste + 1 Broth
  • Sells for: 700 coins

As you can see, each set of crafting recipes works as a trio, offering you some complex crafting projects as you'll need to create the ingredients that are then used in another recipe. These recipes become more valuable as you go along, however, so there's definitely some incentive to taking the time to crate them. Don't forget about the possibility that in-game quests could also ask you to craft these objects as well.

This is by no means a complete list of all of the crafting recipes available, but this guide will continue to grow in the future as we unlock more recipes to craft and sell. Stay tuned!

What do you think of FarmVille 2's almost immediate focus on crafting? Would you rather stick to just planting and harvesting crops for coins, or do you appreciate more complexity with how you can use your crops after they've been harvested? Sound off in the comments!

FarmVille 2 Crops: Everything you need to know

While we knew that FarmVille 2 was in development at Zynga, any major details about the game were kept under wraps until today's sudden launch. Now that we've had a chance to dive into our new 3D farms, we've found that while there are much fewer crops to plant in this sequel than in the original FarmVille, these crops are also more complex than we're used to.

We're here with a complete look at the game's starter crops, including their profits and some of the recipes that you can use them in (you'll unlock crafting at around Level 5). FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Plant lengthy crops right before a level-up

If you're just getting started in FarmVille 2, you might have been disappointed by how quickly the game hits a paywall, requiring you to either wait for Wheat to grow (as part of a quest) or pay real money to harvest it instantly. You'll hit this point after about ten minutes of play, which is definitely disappointing, but luckily, if you spend just a few more moments after this point on the farm, you'll find one of the game's best qualities.

Whether this is a permanent feature or just an introductory boost, each time you level up in FarmVille 2, any crops or trees that are currently growing on your farm will become instantly ready. UPDATE: We've confirmed with Zynga that this feature is permanent. Whether it's strawberries, which take 24 hours, or tomatoes, which take just 60 seconds, these items will skip their complete growth cycle and will be ready to harvest in a matter of seconds. In the case of the game's beginning, this is literally what saves the game from hitting such an early wall and allows you continue playing. Later on in the game, it could make the difference between waiting a day to finish a quest and waiting just a few minutes.
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Plant lengthy crops right before a level-up

As you play, you'll be able to track your XP status via the bright purple bar at the top of the screen, so whenever the bar is almost full, you can plan your actions accordingly, planting long growth time crops across your entire farm. This also goes for trees, which you'd want to harvest and water before leveling up so that you can claim another bushel of fruit from each tree much faster than if you had to wait each tree's full growth time.

Since this feature does depend on a bit of luck, you might not be able to take full advantage of this instant growth potential each and every time you level up in the game, but if you happen to know that you're about to go up a level, make sure to make the most of it and make progress on your farm that much faster!

Good luck, and stay tuned for more cheats and tips about FarmVille 2 on Facebook!

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Harvest those crops before friends can!

FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Harvest those crops before friends can!
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Harvest those crops before friends can!

The first time you login to FarmVille 2 each day (or after a long absence), you might have plenty of friends waiting around on your farm to help you out. By that time, your crops and trees are probably all ready to harvest, and you might think that these friends' actions are now just saving you time in completing steps yourself. However, if you "use" your friends wisely, you can actually get even more out of their visit than just the harvesting some crops or trees.

If you see that activating a friend would result in them harvesting a set of crops on your farm, as an example, make sure that you harvest those crops manually yourself. Then, plant a new set of five crops on those squares and water them, if you have the water available at the time. After you've completed those two steps, you can head back to your friend's avatar on your farm and accept those actions. Now, instead of harvesting crops and doing very little for your farm in the long run, these friends will actually fertilize the new crops that you've just planted.
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Harvest those crops before friends can!
FarmVille 2 Cheats & Tips: Harvest those crops before friends can!

As you can see from the images above, the friend request was still there, even though we've tended those crops manually, and we've now earned free fertilization from friends in the process (you can tell by the glowing wheat crops that are standing under that friend). With this easy tip, you can make a lot more progress towards prized crops, and are even one step closer to instant harvesting if another friend comes and interact with that same spot. What's more, if you have enough Fertilizer on hand to fertilize these new crops before your activate your friend, you can actually earn instant harvests on a long growth-time crop like Strawberries! How neat is that?

Good luck making more progress in FarmVille 2, and stay tuned for more cheats and tips to help you advance in the game!
